One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.¹ Because early detection signficantly improves treatment options and outcomes, RadNet has developed a next-generation prostate screening solution that delivers accuracy and greater patient comfort.
Enhanced Prostate Screening is next-generation detection. MRI now plays an increasingly important role in prostate cancer detection and diagnosis, and RadNet's AI technology is proving invaluable for optimal patient outcomes.
Enhanced Prostate Screening (EPS) leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and MRI technology to deliver early and accurate cancer detection. MRI screening is more sensitive than the standard PSA blood test typically used for screening.² EPS creates detailed images of the prostate gland and surrounding tissue, and the FDA-cleared AI assists radiologists in reading the exam. It is like having hundreds of experts supporting the radiologist.
EPS delivers outstanding reporting quality and speed, and a faster and more accurate diagnosis through the quick identification of abnormalities. Results are available within 36 hours, so clinicians can make informed decisions when they count. EPS is available at select RadNet centers.
The Patient Experience
Patients do not require a written referral from a healthcare provider for Enhanced Prostate Screening. Just as women who meet the age requirement do not require referral for mammography screening, we believe that high-quality prostate screening should be readily available to all men who qualify.
EPS is non-invasive and pain-free. With an MRI screening, patients avoid the discomfort of the standard digital rectal exam. MRI uses no radiation, so patients gain accurate results with no exposure. The scan time for EPS is only 10 minutes, and patients are not required to fast beforehand.
Claustrophobic patients can rest assured that the head remains outside the MRI unit during the screening.
Who Is Eligible?
If you meet the following criteria, then Enhanced Prostate Screening may be right for you:
You are a man aged 45 or older.
You have had no previous prostate biopsy or prostate cancer diagnosis.
You do not have a PSA score, or your PSA score is less than 4. (A PSA score is not required for the exam.)
Screening results and family history will indicate the interval at which a patient should return for routine screening, between one and five years.
“Men need to learn how to fight like women. Through advocacy and education women have become empowered to improve the way breast cancer is provided. Men are 20 years behind. Medicine's ability to accurately screen, stage, and treat prostate cancer has never been better, and men can demand innovative care such as Enhanced Prostate Screening with AI and MRI technology.”
